In accordance with the Swimming New Zealand Member Protection Policy, police vetting is mandatory for persons working with our young athletes and other vulnerable people within our sport.

Who needs to be Police Vetted?
Coaches, Volunteer Coaches, Technical Officials, Team Managers, Regional and Club Administrators should all be Police Vetted.

Is there an expiry date of my Police Vet?
Yes, all Police Vet accreditations have an expiry date

  • Coaches, including volunteer coaches, expiry two years from the approval date
  • All other categories expire three years from the approval date

What do I need before starting the process?

  • Your Swimming NZ registration number
    • A six-digit number that is uniquely yours. If you are unsure what yours is, contact your Club or Regional administrator before starting the process.
  • Your driver’s license OR passport
    • An electronic copy is best: using your mobile phone, take a photo of the document, email it to yourself and save it on your device for easy access later in the process.
