Pathway Program Overview

The aim of the Swimming Southland Pathway Programme is to compliment and build on to the great work already being done by the region’s coaches.
The opportunities offered are on top of each swimmers weekly training commitment.

In a nutshell we are aiming to:
  1. Provide the swimmers with the tools both skill wise and mentally to feel comfortable and confident standing behind the blocks on race day at any given level of competition.
  2. Provide a coaching pathway of best practice for our club and up and coming coaches
  3. Create a sustainable pathway where success is common place
  4. Create an environment that is athlete driven, coach lead and administratively assisted.
  5. Learn from one another and share ideas on how we can move forward as a sport
  6. Increase our participation numbers as a region
For the coaches with swimmers in the squads, it is a chance to work alongside one another, share ideas and learn from one another.
For the club volunteer teachers and coaches it is having available resources and personal to allow them to feel confident teaching all skills.
